Mirani’s Story: From a Crippling Fear of Maths to Passing LANTITE Numeracy
Hi, my name is Mirani, and I want to share my LANTITE Numeracy journey in the hope that it helps other students who are feeling scared, overwhelmed, or doubtful about passing this exam.
Before LANTITE, I had always struggled deeply with numeracy. In fact, I had a crippling fear of maths. I was placed in the lowest maths classes at school and avoided anything maths-related from Year 10 onwards. Maths was something I carried with me as a long-standing insecurity, and it never really went away.
At university, I worked incredibly hard and was proud to be a high-achieving student. I consistently ranked at the top of my class, received Dean’s Honour awards in my final two years, and maintained a GPA of 6.5+. Academically, I felt capable and confident — except when it came to maths. No matter how well I performed, numeracy always lingered in the background as something I feared would eventually hold me back.
That fear became very real when I failed the LANTITE Numeracy test on my first attempt. I felt defeated, emotional, and unsure if I would ever be able to pass. Preparing to try again felt overwhelming and, at times, impossible. There were many tears — but also more determination than I’d ever had before.
Signing up for Barb’s 5-Week LANTITE Numeracy Course changed everything.
Throughout the course, I kept detailed study notes, attended almost every live webinar, joined the extra Q&A sessions, and stayed in regular contact with Barb. That ongoing connection made me feel genuinely supported — not just academically, but emotionally as well. I felt aligned with Barb’s teaching style and truly understood by someone who knew how intimidating LANTITE Numeracy can feel.
The way Barb breaks down numeracy concepts, her simple but genius methods, and her constant encouragement helped everything finally click. I started making huge leaps of improvement in a very short amount of time. For the first time, maths felt manageable — even logical.
When I walked into the LANTITE Numeracy exam, I felt calm, prepared, and capable. I passed with flying colours.
Because I passed LANTITE Numeracy, I was able to complete my degree, and I’m now about to start my very first class as a teacher. This still feels incredibly special to say.
Barb’s course didn’t just teach me numeracy. It helped me believe in myself when I didn’t think it was possible. If you’re searching for LANTITE Numeracy help, struggling with maths anxiety, or doubting whether you can pass — please know that you are not alone. With the right support, structure, and encouragement, it is possible.
If my story helps even one future teacher feel less alone on their LANTITE journey, then sharing it is worth it.
