Anita’s Story – From Anxiety to Graduation 🎓
Some stories deserve to be shared exactly as they are — raw, honest, and real.
Anita’s journey is one that so many students will relate to. If you’ve ever failed, doubted yourself, or felt like giving up… please take a moment to read her words below.
Anita’s Story (in her own words)
Before finding Barb, I had already sat the LANTITE Numeracy Test once — and failed. I went in with almost no preparation, thinking the ACER practice tests were enough. They weren’t. The real exam felt significantly harder, and that failure triggered severe anxiety that stayed with me for nearly two years. I practised constantly but couldn’t retain anything. I avoided the test entirely because I genuinely believed I would never pass.
After receiving an ADHD diagnosis and getting support for my mental health, I decided to try again. In May 2025, I purchased Barb’s Recorded Webinar Package and came close to passing. In August 2025, I used the recorded webinars again — even studying while overseas — but on exam day, my mind went blank. I failed miserably, and it felt like the end of the road.
I made myself a promise:
If I failed in August, I would join Barb’s Live 5-Week Intensive Numeracy Course.
That decision changed everything. Because I had already learnt Barb’s techniques, I suddenly found myself solving questions before she demonstrated them. I challenged myself every session, and if I didn’t understand something, I watched the recordings until I did. For the first time, numeracy made sense.
November 2025 was my final attempt. My university had made it clear: if I didn’t pass, they would no longer extend my degree timeline. I would be forced to graduate with a Bachelor of Early Childhood (Birth–Kindergarten), meaning I could only work in daycare settings. My dream of becoming a qualified school teacher was on the line.
I attended every live session. I practised relentlessly. I trusted Barb’s methods — and myself.
When I sat the November test, I felt confident in the non-calculator section but rushed through the calculator section. I walked out convinced I had failed.
But I didn’t.
I passed — with flying colours — and even achieved Band 3 in the non-calculator section.
Good tutoring costs money, but passing the LANTITE is priceless. Barb’s resources are not “expensive” when you consider what they give you: confidence, clarity, and the ability to finally move forward in your teaching career. Don’t complain about the cost, and don’t complain if you fail once or twice. I failed multiple times — but I took responsibility, kept practising, and trusted the process.
Fast forward to March 2026:
I walked across the stage at my Graduation Ceremony. It was surreal. I did it — and I owe so much of that moment to Barb.
Today, numeracy questions that once terrified me take seconds to solve. I was never “bad at numeracy”; I just hadn’t been taught in a way that worked for my brain until I met Barb.
Believe in Barb. Believe in yourself. You can pass the LANTITE Numeracy Test. I did — and I’m living proof that her resources work.
